Some researchers in Colorado believe (who listens to anyone in Colorado?) that earth like planets may be more common. Key words, may be and believe. It's not even a theory let alone fact but they took it into their hands to talk about this idea to people. Of course people are going to go, oh my gosh aliens. Maybe they did it for the money, maybe they did it because no one thinks there's intelligent life in Colorado. The bottom line is they have nothing but a computer simulation that use estimated and conceptual figure provides a possibility that more earth like planets could exist.
I've got news for them, we already thought more earth like planets existed. That is if you believe that the universe is infinite, with infinite possibilities anything can happen and if your a math nerd you know that any percentage of infinity is infinity. Therefore there an infinite number of earth like planets.
what people really should be talking about how impossible long distance space travel is. And I don't mean long distance, mars, I mean sci-fi movie long distance. All these people who jump at the idea that there's a chance aliens exist or that in the next decade we could be living on the moon are gonna get their hearts broken.
here's my theory.
the universe is infinite and contains an infinite amount of objects moving at every possible speed and direction. Now try to imagine traveling a vast distance while calculating every single moving object including the ones behind the planets, you know the ones you can't see while estimating if certain stars an gravitational forces will still exist by the time you get there. I'm no math wiz but is sounds life calculating infinity to the infinite power. What kind of computer could do that?
not ours. At our current level of space and computer tech we can't even get into space on a rainy day. What make anyone thing we'll be colonizing planets anytime soon. We might have a chance at the moon before the earth becomes a rotting pool of pollution (thanks mom and dad for just now figuring out that you've screwed the environment).
it may sound cynical but the human race is going to die out and all we have to show for it is the nuclear bomb and reality TV shows.
blah, what's the point. We shouldn't even bother having kids their just going to die in painful and hideous ways. Everyman for themselves.... Oh wait we're already doing that.
http://www.bitsofnews.com/content/view/3826/2/
stupid people

Sorry

Sorry about the art thing but this keeps popping up on my screen and it's annoying.
the following is a quote from me-
"its just creepy and the real controversy is why parents should be aloud to take their screaming children anywhere. Unlike them some of us haven't become deaf to the piercing wail."
it seems that there are some people who think there is an issue here. Yeah, understand kids crying, child abuse and it probably is. People hate the photographer but as someone else said, what about the parents. The parents of these children obviously consented to let them cry. Its interesting how people ignore the physiological ramifications of what is done to people at young ages. I know a fellow who rolled off a changing table as a baby and to this day has a fear of heights (that includes high places in video games too, crazy). So in a couple of years when mommy and daddy take these kids to get Christmas photos and they throw a tantrum because they have a deep seeded fear of photos they're going to forget what they did and yell at the kid.
but seriously I don't care. There are so many bad parents today that that generation is going to be screwed up. The other day I saw a kid in a car alone outside of burgerking while mom was inside eating. I wondered for a minute what would happen if I took the kid. Would it teach the mom a lesson or would everyone think I was insane and creepy?
doesn't matter either because I'd rather avoid the ear bleeding screams of children. They're everywhere and people complain about loud music or people talking too loud on there cellphones. Everyone is too afraid to complain about a crying child, to tell the mom to leave the store or go outside. Its like kids have a magic bubble over them where everyone is too afraid to interfere even if it's in everyone's best interest.
http://www.paulkopeikingallery.com/artists/greenberg/exhibitions/endtimes/index.htm
stupid people

Art Lesson: Final

It's the end of class boys and girls and here is the final lesson (I'm sure those of you who couldn't care less about art are happy).
It took a while and a lot of searching to find so good art with originality, emotion and talent.
While these two artists aren't my personal cup-o-tea I wouldn't claw out my eyes if I had to put their work on my wall.
http://www.johncopeland.com/
This guys does good work and you can see right away that he puts time and forethought into them. My only issue with him is that I've crossed his path before and he's a bit of a jerk (with a speech impediment) and he's beginning to get too commercialized. By that I mean that he's expanding into selling his work on each coast even though he lives in NY. It's a bit lame since half the point of showing your work is so people can talk to the artist and plus their are plenty of struggling artists in California would would like to have a chance at gallery space. Still, I guess you can't fault him for trying to sell.

I haven't had the pleasure of meeting this gal but as you can see by here happy pictures its not something I would normally have on my wall. From what I gather she specializes in book illustration. Which only gives he more points because she isn't drawing the same pictures everyone else is. The best thing about her work is that if I wanted to be suave and dashing by purchasing a present for a lady friend I'd buy one of her works.
http://www.catiachien.com/

that's enough niceness for one month.
stupid people

Art Lesson: Theft

also know as collage.
not to be mistaken for college...
(what expecting some sardonic remark about education?)
(Ha. Taking other peoples work, like photos and drawings and words, cutting them up, re arranging them and saying, "ta da, look what I made." I made the same thing in kindergarten but even then I had the morals not to make money off someone else's work. That is called cheating and you get put in the corner with a dunce cap on if you do that. If you had and real artistic talent you would draw/paint by hand the exact same collection of images. Maybe I'd give you a little more credit although it still is taking someone else's idea.
"Hey, Sam."
"Hi mister, ford"
"Say did I tell you about this idea I had for mass producing things? You make a line and along the line you got your workers, see and they put on the little bits and pieces as the product moves forward along the line. All the workers have to do is concentrate on knowing how to put that one part onto the big part, cuts down on training and capitalizes on efficiency."
"Golly, gee mister ford you sure are smart."
"Thanks, Sam. See you around."
"Holy shit I have to get on this first!"
Have I gotten my point across?
----------------------------------------------------
^
|
|
|
|
|
and that's what I call crap.
my second argument against collage and it's disharmony of style, colors and fonts.
is is making sense of the senseless? A picture in chaos? A collaboration of minds who would never meet? Or just plain old shitty craftsmanship.
http://www.somavenus.com/cds_categories.php?rec=48&cookiecrumb=Gallery
stupid people

Art Lesson: Shock

Shock art.
art with some type of grotesque graphic display or meaning. As far as an investment goes shock at is only as valuable as how long and shocking the message it contains is. As home owner shock art is only worthwhile if you don't mind having a huge painting a genitalia being crushed on your wall. As an artist shock art is... Well unless you're a shock artist shock art is hard to understand.
often shock art is slapped together using low quality materials, little time but hours of thought. My friend once shaved his entire body and than sprinkled the hair onto a canvas in the shape of a body. Shock artist are often extremely passionate about what they are thinking about and the way of showing it that or they are greedy bastards who know that doing something bad gets them attention.
in the end it's just like a circus freak show. Along time ago any Warhol (who I don't like) lead the pop art revolution. Back then pop art meant using mass production techniques and famous logic to create pieces of art. The idea was to bring in to light the intensity at which we were being sold to through art. In short it was making fun of pop. Was. was was. The ironic thing that happened was the other artist began copying this style and techniques as well as corporations in order to sell more things.
now the new pop art is this cartoon surrealist (abstract images and ideas place in the painting which usually have meaning to only the artist) stuff that is every where (also that grunge threshold stuff). Its being copied and collected by everyone as they talk about how great it is when in fact it might as well be Campbell soup labels because they're so mass produced.
http://www.markryden.com/paintings/index.html
http://www.magda-gallery.com/ang/christianang.htm
http://www.heikomueller.de/paintings.html
http://www.michael-parkes-gallery.com/
http://www.scribbletheory.com/home-f.html
stupid people

Art Lesson: Bad Art

I feel like making someone cry.
this ladies and gentlemen is bad art and the beginning or your art appreciation education.
Not only is the technique poor so is the composition (placement of subject matter), the color choices and the subject mater itself.
this is bad art, look at it remember it.
now you know the bottom of the scale.
http://www.ginabold.com/
stupid people

Money, money everywhere

First off, someone needs to readjust their website for lower resolution viewers. Now if this was something original and not a sock monkey (a concept that's been around for a long time) then it might be worth it.
but I'm not angry at the sock monkey. What I'm angry at is that this sock monkey will probably be purchased along with other over priced things like this.
who will do the purchasing?
the old folks, the ones getting ready to retire with savings and retirement accounts that have been hoarding money for the last twenty years. They have all this excess cash floating around they are going to start buy pointless things for high prices but it doesn't matter because we'll be giving them money to live off of with our taxes and then they have their retirement accounts.
stupid people

Quick question

how is hyper-realism and different than taking a photograph?
it take more time and ability then a photograph yet it captures the same image a photograph can.
so why not take a photograph?
everyone is doing it on their digital cameras and cellphones. Those same amateur photographers take the same stupid pictures of people, feet, thing they thing are funny or girls on the beach. Maybe their technique and composition are crap but the moment of time they capture, the image, character, attitude, emotion, thoughts and everything are all the same as a hyper-realistic painting except that the hyper realistic painting took more then a moment to make and cost some where near $75,000 dollars. I collect art, have some on the wall in front of me now and now way would I spend that much money that has no personal value to anyone. It has no heart, so to speak. It was nice it made people want to jump up and yell, Hell yeah!
So now 6 or 7 years later we can browse the internet and find various office humor like the video of that guy smashing his computer or funny pictures. What I find more funny is the fact that you can find all these things, these jokes and parodies about working in a cubicle and hating your boss yet no one is doing anything about it. At some point everyone felt like they had the power, that they could get up and walk out (hell I did it I haven't worked in an office for 6 years). It's one of the sad things about society, everyone is great at talking (holding signs, stop the war, protesting and discussing politics) but no one does anything (votes, has any actually knowledge about what is really going on in the world rather than their propagandized information). 6 years ago, for a brief moment, I thought wouldn't it be amazing if everyone who was fend up with their go no where working for a moraless company job got up and left. At first they could fill the gaps with other people desperate for jobs but as the number of people quitting increased sales and productivity would drop, they'd have to do something to get people to work for them (because its a two way street neither employer or employee can function without the other). So they clean up their act give better benefits, better pay and stop raping and pillaging the land and economy.
or we could all just shut up, and keep quiet (hate to make a religious analogy but it's like peter denying he knew Jesus at one of the most crucial moments).
it's why nothing changes because no one is willing to stick their neck out under the assumption that the general population will stand up with them. Would you trust your next door neighbor to push you out of the way of a car if it endangered their life?
we're all selfish at that's just human nature.
http://www.dysan.net/weird/show.php?num=636

-----------------------------------------
Due to my lack time and energy next few post will be about specific web pages and not websites.

Also due to my lack of time and energy these statements will be copy cut and pasted.
stupid people

The army gathers

Another brother in arms!
http://www.pointlesssites.com/
stupid people

Make a note

I'd just like it to go on record that I was the first one, that I've been doing this since July. The commercials of people standing on a white set talking about how they met their wife/husband.
And lets face it a good percentage of us have signed up for the free trial or some other thing like this. I know have and I'm not afraid to admit it... Of course I get to justify it in the next couple of sentences. Why not do it? It's a free trial and the only thing you have to lose is your dignity if someone you know sees your picture on there but that means they signed up too so... Plus there's a little bit of curiosity about their scientific questionnaire and maybe if your the romantic sort you thing at least there's a chance you might meet someone perfectly compatible with you. Then there's that whole too lazy and to tired to go out and date let alone the trouble of meeting people.
All of this has nothing to do with anything what I'm here about is the ads (yes, ads again). The thing is that you can't miss these online ads I'm talking about. They're funny. To me anyway. More than half of them have "True" pasted right between the cleavage of some gorgeous model. As I'm typing away that the internet with a pair of breasts on my screen I wonder if its a subliminal message. Is true love inbetween perfectly shaped silicon breasts? Or maybe that's the message for the girls? Maybe they're supposed to want the silicon breasts and I'm supposed to think that all the girls who sign up look like this model? Maybe we're all supposed to want silicon breast and if everyone wants the same thing then gets it we'll all be happy.
But I guess that the basic message anyone can take away is that you can only have true love if you're a sexy model or are with a sexy model and in that I think I can agree with love at first sight.
http://www.true.com
stupid people

And...

Look at the image of the womans face!
LOOK!
Once upon a time in geek world this was called cell shading (video game terminology). This website opens up with the great non-informative square. Can anyone tell me one of my biggest issues with websites recently? The fact that they don't bother justifying or explaining there existence. Why should I even bother clicking on this boring block of green? Tell me or sell me or convince me but don't assume I give a crap. Well, I guess I do give a crap since I clicked on it and I'm writing about it but I'm not the brightest bulb.
When you do click on the square it brings you to the images html. Images, yes. Art, no. Thank you photoshop for making everyone thing they're an artist. Next there will be a program that will write stories and all you have to do is plug in character names.
What's depressing about these images is that kids now a days (sometimes I like making myself feel old) think things like these are the coolest thing in the world. Threshold-ed images are all over the place right now, t-shirts, magazines, CD covers, posters and on and on. Personally I think the only reason they're popular is because any child can make them.
In case you don't know what a threshold-ed image is it a image, usually a photo that is run through a filter that turns the luminescence of an image into numbers. You can choose a number and bright or dark colors outside of the threshold of that image are removed creating black and white out lines. It's a simple task of going to one of the menu bar options in photoshop and selecting threshold, 30 seconds max. So what people like this like to do is find photos chop out the parts they like threshold them and paste them into something they call art.
Now I could give this person the befit of the doubt and believe that they made these by hand or carves out wood stamps used black ink and made these but there's a dozen reasons I can tell these are photoshop, the most obvious one is the color scribbles that don't bleed through anything.
it's all very annoying and makes me not even want to bother talking about copyright infringement.
http://www.amanemurakami.com/
stupid people

Disgust

So I sat here looking at this website for a while thinking, wow... wow. This girl is good and innovative. This is the first time I'd seen an artist capable of this level of realism to make the subjects and backgrounds unreal. Then I kept looking and kept looking. There was something wrong. None of the paintings felt like they had any emotion behind them (having this sixth sense is from hanging around too many artists). The difference between a bad painting and a good painting is that you can see the emotion in a good painting, the artist leaks it into every stroke. A bad artist/painting just puts something on canvas for alternate reason, because they thought the image would sell or someone told them too. or... digitally composed images don't have any emotion in them either...
so I look around the website a little more, specifically the bio/making of section and their it was in all it's disgust. Photoshop.
This gal take a picture (and I don't mean takes the photo, she takes a picture from magazines or from someone else) puts it on her computer, enlarges the eyes, cuts out the background and puts pretty little colors in not to mention she uses one of the prefabricated filters that photoshop has to make it look like the image was created with a brush.
I thought it was odd that she had so many "paintings". Unless she was very famous she wouldn't have been able to paint that many things in less than three years, the time and cost would be huge.
In case you haven't following along, digitally composed images are not art and have no value, because like I said they have no emotion, there is not as much skill involved if I want a square on my computer I use the square tool if I want specific colors I use the color picker instead of making the perfect square and mixing colors by hand, plus digital works can be endlessly reproduced making owning one worthless. Some of the minor issues is that with digital art you never mess up, you never learn from your mistakes because you can undo or delete, digital people never tell you out right that its a digital image as if they're trying to sneak it past you. And I can go on and on.
http://www.calirezo.com/
she has a good eye for graphic design but no way of putting emotion in her images with a pixel brush.
stupid people

yakitty yak

I think the saddest thing about this website is when you click ont the how you can help link. If you don't know how to write a novel reading this or things like it is not going to help. Every good author in existence has had the inate ability to write or tell stories. They didn't have to work at it. The only thing they had to work at is changing their words so the major public could understand.
No, just because you can write a simple sentence does not mean you can become a writer, you are not on par with hemmingway or joyce. Crap, most published writers aren't on par with them either just because they're published doesn't mean jack. Well, actually it means they are able to sell out to writing general pop fiction that apeals to event he slowest minds. There haven't been many real authors in a long time. A lot of the books on the new york times best seller list are franchised fiction (books with characters and plots layed out by publishing companies to reach maximum sale potential and ghost written by people who don't care).
Ah, MAN! I have a secret and I'm itching to get it out but I'm under contract not to say....
crap.
i've just been handed a pre-release copy of the best book I've ever read. and I'm going to get in trouble for even saying this much. Stay tuned for later post when I get to tell you everything.

p.s. I don't mean to pick on this one particualr site there are plenty of sites and books like this. i only say this because I noticed this site is from the peace corps web site and at least those folks are trying to make a posative imapact in the world even if they a bit nieve (is that how you spell that, i hate fremch words).

http://www.peacecorpswriters.org/pages/depts/resources/resour_writers/100daysbook/bk100da.html
stupid people

Money you say?

I can make money for writing, sharing ideas, connecting with people and expanding my mind?
How is possible?
http://www.xomba.com/
Wait...
What does xomba have to offer me exactly?
Well they have this thing called a "xombyte" which is xomba's word for a "blog". I don't know how many of you out there know what a blog is bit it's a thing where you can write whatever you want and put it on the internet. It's different form normal web pages because there's the inference that you will put something new up everyday. When you sign up with xomba you can post your writing and they'll put it on their page next to other peoples post about similar topics along with a google ad sense bar. And everytime they earn money from the google ad sense above your article they'll split it with you 50/50. I hope you didn't believe otherwise but someone out there has to because they keep putting up those ads and keep using the same scheme.
Think about it... Somewhere out there.... There's a complete idiot.
I have to laugh at myself for two reasons. One, there are ads at the bottom of this page. They're banner exchanges and web ring stuff but still they're ads (did you notice I took off that piece of crap pop up ad? I didn't know it was their but funny story, I got kicked off the banner exchange a long time ago for having offensive material. Congratulations to me I'm on par with porn). Two, a long time ago I decided to see what these "get something free" ads were made of and so I embarked on the amazing journey that I now dub, "how do screw up your email address with spam". To this day I'm still overloaded with spam. And it was all for nothing.
First off most of these ads are from companies that have nothing to do with, ipod or nokia and it says so right off the bat but they obviously have some sort of relationship with the company otherwise they would all have received cease and desist orders. Anyway, so you click click click and fill out your info only to find out that in order to get this free something you have "participate" in offers from their partner companies. One or two of these are credit card applications but most require that you buy a membership or something. Meaning that by the time your done you've spent sixty to seventy dollars for you "free" ipod and possible screwed up your credit. You might be thinking 70 buck for an ipod isn't bad (they only give it to you if you're approved for the credit cards and when I actually did buy something it didn't register with the ad company so it didn't count) but here's the kicker you still have to get twenty of your friends to sign up and do the same thing. This ladies and gentlemen is the foundations of a pyramid scheme.
I don't know about you but I don't have twenty friends nice or stupid enough to go along with he offer especially since they'll most likely spend $70 and get nothing out of it.
If you do however feel the urge to click an ad I did find the ones that are run by the actual companies (you can tell because they link to the website and keep to their marketing colors and slogans) do work. I got myself some great shampoo samples!
And this is why ads suck.
If you know anyone who clicks them thank them for promoting stupidity.
stupid people

Slooooowwwwwwwwww

If you haven't noticed I've been behind in post for the last two weeks, the date stamp on this post reads Aug 14th but it's actually the 19th. This is my futile attempt at posting everyday or at least having a post everyday.
The reason for my delay is that I'm trying to multitask a couple things one of them being these posts. Everytime I get a couple minutes to scan the internet I'm plagued bombarded, lagged down and beaten by streaming video. Most of it plays automatically so I don't even get the chance to move on at the speed of my highspeed internet connection. I hit stop on the movies, wait for my browser to catch up then I can go along provided the stream isn't in QuickTime which always kills my computer. I don't know if anyone else has this problem it could just be me because of my browsing habits. Either way its annoying and it's getting worse.
Something like 75% of the websites I go to have streaming video somewhere in them. I remember once upon a time way the videos that were on the internet were interesting or informative now everyone is thinking up any reason to put a video online. To make matters worse a lot of these people are making money by throwing and spreading more trash.
Even the original streaming video web sites are trashy but they were the original so I can't get too mad. It's all the other jackasses jumping on the band wagon. They buy a domain name and hosting then leach video of other sites then they surround this video with ads. ads to the left of me, ads to the right of me, flash ads talking ads, ads that take forever to load. This is the whole reason most of these new web sites exist is to make money of the ads they put all over the place. Now thanks to http://www.youtube.com/ these ad web sites don't even have to worry about over loading their band width they can just grab the html code put it in the center of their ad castle and earn pennies a day.
I think I'm going to send a letter to the third world countries to set up sites like these because for pennies a day they could feed a village.
So if you read my posts you can blame streaming video for my back log.
stupid people

You can do it!

In a previous post I mentioned something about how we're coddling each other, making nice and patting each other on the back.
"You are a good person and everything you do is worthwhile."
Everyone (mainly middle to upper class folks, some lower class people too if it's their kids) thinks the best solution is to throw money and pills at their problems.
"I can't focus on my work, doc."
"Here take this."
"I don't have enough energy"
"Here take this"
"I feel bad."
"Here take this."
"I'm sad."
"Go buy yourself something or here take this."
It's the easiest solution not the best solution if you could call it a solution. It doesn't fix the actual problem so they just take more pills until one day they can't handle even the most mild stress, they find themselves on a plane from London to Washington having a "panic attack" because they have no idea how to handle discomfort. They've untrained the basic function of their brain. In the animal kingdom folks like this would have been literally eaten alive and they most definitely wouldn't have been able to breed. Who wants the trait of being unable to balance living and feeding themselves?
Do you feel overwhelmed?
Are you stuck in a life rut?
Are you neglecting yourself, your family, your work?
Do you feel the stress of too many conflicting forces?
Do you just react to life versus creating the life you want?
You don't deserve to live.
Seriously kill yourself.
What's the point your a weak link in society. So weak that you can't perform the basic function of living you have to have someone live for you. Don't even bother spending the money on a life coach because you're not going to do anything with your life.

AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
I'm on a rampage today. I'm helping my buddy with a business plan and part of it has to do with folks like this. It's also the reason I'm behind on post and that this post really have no connection to a web site other than this:
http://www.findyourcoach.com/
and periwinkle is ugly.
stupid people

I don't' get it

Can someone please explain this to me?
http://www.snakesonaplane.com/
There's all this hype about this movie but I can't figure out why (granted I don't watch TV so I haven't seen talk show plugs or ads). Maybe it's because they advertise on myspace or maybe because of that cool band that sold their artistic integrity to write a song for the movie. It could be because Samuel L. Jackson he is one cool mother. I wanted to find out why people were so interested in this movie so logically I went to the website which is crap. You're options there are to buy merchandise, download junk or watch the trailers. I couldn't find an explanation as to what the movie was about.
Using my finely tuned detective mind I extrapolated from the information I was able to gather.
What I think this movie is, is a serious horror spoof. They took a ridiculous horror movie concept and wanted to make it feel serious like they were trying to make a good movie. Trying be the key word because from the trailers I couldn't see anything entertaining about the movie. I've seen a thousand of movies just like it except people were actually trying to be serious (watch sci-fi channel on Sundays and you can see too). So I guess the difference is that you can laugh at this movie while laughing at any other would be mean.
I have news for the planes on snakes... snakes on planes folks serious spoof horror has already been done and by one of the great masters.

Bruce Campbell! Save the gas and cost of a movie ticket buy this movie and have it shipped to your door. Bruce gets a couple of his friends from his Zena warrior princess days and directs this beauty. It's literally so funny I forgot to laugh. For the first couple minutes your thinking to yourself jeeze I hope they're not being serious then after a horribly choreographed fight scene you the chuckles slip out.
Anyway, if there's something else I'm missing about snakes on a plane let me know but if the attention is because they had a bigger advertising budget blah to them.
stupid people

Anti-me/my mission statement

or what might get me kicked off the internet.
If I'm going to be fair I might as well talk about blogs.

I decided recently that blogs could have been a good idea but aren't because they weren't started with that good idea in mind. A blog could have been a useful too for keeping friends and family members up to date without sending emails and avoiding spam filters. Except why would a company give you something for free is they couldn't some how make money off of it in another way. Once again advertising kills. If they were going to put ads on blogs they couldn't make them viewable to only a limit number of people they had to be public (by the way google owns http://www.blogger.com hence the google ad words at the top. And while it's optional why not put it on since it could make you money, that's the mindset google counts on). So this changes the user base to people who don't care if other people read about their personal life and people who think that what they have to say is important (this includes me).
Why should anyone care about what Joe no one has to say about politics?
blogs are filled with non-creditable voices full of more personal opinion than fact. I get the concept that if you know the person read the blog and if you don't or don't like them don't read the blog. It works in theory except that those thousands of pointless blogs get in the way of finding any useful ones. People don't seem to get the concept that over stimulating a market/idea disenfranchises public opinion of said market/idea. meaning people start thinking it's crap and stop bothering looking or caring. Everyone want to jump on board the life raft but no one stops to think if there life is worth saving more than someone else's so all then all the doctors, teachers, etc. Drown too.
So why am I contributing to the increase of blog mass?
Well not to make excuse but this blog isn't the same as most of the others. It's a review blog for everyone to read and while a review is an opinion with credibility the only credibility I need is that you can easily see what I'm talking about by clicking the link. But that still doesn't explain myself. The whole problem with people jumping on board is that no one is telling anyone that they can't or shouldn't. It's become the philosophy of the internet community that there is no point in making negative comments. We've become all love dovey and if you're mean people get offended. They "report" you (like were in highschool) or better yet discount what you say as irrelevant because it's their website and their idea so it must be good.
so doing the stupidest thing I can do I decide to fight fire with a flame thrower. I've decide that not telling people that they are too slow, or unintelligent or pointless or uninformed is a detriment to society as a whole. How are we supposed to evolve as people if there's no reason to when we think we're all fine and dandy.
Okay I should get off my high horse. Why is it my pace to say what's what? I can admit this, it's why I named the blog what I named it. But someone has to take the first steps out or thing continue in a never ending loop.

side note: funny thing, if you have ablogger account and click the link it'll take you to your blogger dashboard, assuming you have cookies enabled.
stupid people

MyComputerdoesn'twork

I have so many gripes about http://www.myspace.com that I wouldn't have the time to post them all.
The biggest one is that if you speak against myspace you're more than likely to get a bunch of myspacers ready to argue against you. It's become a fanatic cult. Myspace has become the next drug or at least phone/90210/soap opera addiction. In my experience people who get addicted to things that have a limited to no bearing on ones current physical space have no real life or are teenagers. Except this addiction extend into the new realm of people who feel like they need to be in constant contact with everyone. It's as if they were afraid that if they miss something their lives will be ruined. Like people with TV's in their car being afraid to get to far away from the blaring media. Lucky for me the people who use myspace aren't capable of functioning on independent thought process which means I'm not missing out on anyone interesting.
I'll admit it though, I had an account years ago and recently tried to set up a new one (for lets face it advertising and web traffic purposes) but surprise surprise it still sucks. And I'm not just saying that because I have no friends. Everything I load myspace on of the millions of ads, flash, java, php codes screws my computer and crashes something. From what I hear myspace has recently been having major issues which means that the new account I setup I can't access. I can see the page I just can't do anything to it. Talk about a pointless waste of my internet space/the over all band with of the internet world.
The good news is that after being purchased by AOL/Time Warner myspaces has slowly began to destroy itself with bogged down connection, failing website code and over whelming ad content. All myspace is now is a way to sell things to the kids.

as I'm writing this I feel like I've written it before. Have I already posted a anti-myspace blog? myspace make my head hurt.
stupid people

Not my definition

does the definition of art extend from crayon scribbles to renaissance masterpieces?
If you've ever involved yourself in the art world or tried to differentiate between good and bad you may have asked yourself this question. To say that a child crayon ramblings are the same as a Picasso doesn't do either justice. If you did then would you crumble up the kids work and say, "bah, try something else because you're never going to make it." And if Picasso were alive today you wouldn't walk up to him and say, "by two year old is an artist too." So logically there is a level where skill plays a factor in what is art and what isn't (though in comparison to crayons do paint splatters/abstract art constitute anything?).
As an artist it's nice to have your work seen and appreciated but it's hard work being noticed by people or galleries when there are so many people (of varying ability) trying to be artists too. Take http://www.deviantart.com/ for instance. It's a forum/gallery for artist to put up photos of their work and have them be seen. But if you click on the link what do you see? The images tend to generate randomly but I can tell you the top 5:
1) anime, kids trying to replicate their favorite characters or just take from the already over used art style.
2) sketches, usually child like from kids with digital cameras putting up their pencil lines against high quality paintings.
3) Digital, or something made using only a computer. This isn't art just graphic design especially as programs advance and making a face or an animal is an auto function you find somewhere in the menus.
4) faces, or photos, of teenagers face in what they believe to be an interesting or cool pose. Most of these are taken by holding the camera in one hand and extending their arm out. Some of the non-face photos are boring nature shots or lame attempts at being deep and artsy.
5) and last and obviously least actual art work. Well composed images with good color palette's and good technique.
the thing that makes deviant art so disappointing is that the people with the worst work are often times the most popular because the user spends most of their time using the site as a way to chat an leave comments.
stupid people

Off topic

I'd seen a couple episodes of this show a long time ago but only recently rented the season 1 DVD (sadly there was only one season). It was ahead of it's time although it's times was 2002. The premise of the show is that puppets are real, they have jobs like us, go to school like us and have families like us. Greg the bunny and his roommate played by Seth Green work on a children's TV show with various humans and puppets. The basic feeling of the show is that they took a normal sitcom and made puppets main characters which for the first couple episodes I thought was lame until they started handling things like drinking, sex and death. I never thought I'd see a puppet catch on fire at his won funeral.
The show was canceled like family guy was canceled because the humor was too morbid, dry and disturbing but as we all know family guys came back and it's a big hit.
If you don't buy it at least rent it if not for the puppet sex but for the retarded turtle who eats crayons.
stupid people

Sell high, buy high

http://www.etsy.com/ is the Ebay of handcrafted, artist-made goods with out the bidding. It facilitates sales for artisans. This is a good thing since selling and getting noticed is a very hard thing to do let alone running a business which most artists are horrible at. Actually, running a business in America if a hard thing to do in general, there's the paperwork, the fees, licenses and tax all of which require a high degree of knowledge and if you mess up with any of these things the government will shut you down. So, allowing a created mind to sell their creativity easily is not a bad thing. In fact there are a lot of cool, original things on this site. And there are a lot of things that fit in that opposite category.
I guess the major theme of my website hate comes from the people involved.
Here are the two problems with this site.
1.) Copyright infringement. It's becoming a bigger and bigger with fabricators (I won't say artist because I think people who take other peoples work tend not to have the talent to be called an artist). People take magazine clippings or old pieces of junk and spruce them up passing them off as their own creation. Like most sights who try to stay in business Etsy has it's rules but somethings do slip through. I suppose this is more of personal opinion that people shouldn't be making money off of other peoples original work whether it be mass produces record albums or old photos.
2.) Pricing. Artists/Fabricators never seem to get this right. They float towards either side of the spectrum. Either they under price themselves making their work seem less quality and then opening themselves up for someone to copy their idea and charge more or (run on sentence, I know) they charge too much for something that cost them pennies and a couple hours to make. Paying twenty bucks for a 7.5 inch x 5.9 inch fabric pouch is ridiculous. I can go to target and get the same exact thing for two dollars. Yeah, sure you hand made it but so what. We live in capitalist economy that does not mean charges as much as possible that means compete with the other sellers. I'm all for supporting the little man/woman, don't buy from large corporations who out source, use child labor, and stomp all over small businesses. But at the same time you have to know your place and it's not selling sewn together scraps of fabric for twenty dollars especially if it's easily remade (not one of a kind) and like anything else you can buy anywhere else.
that's my problems thought not really with the site at all just the people. As a consumer shop smart. If you're a seller learn about sales and pricing first because the image you display as a artist/fabricator gets recorded in the minds of the general population and that's how they see the rest of your peers. Bottom line don't ruin it for everyone else by being greed or dumb.
stupid people

The language of idiots

http://www.wikipedia.org/
There was nothing ever good about this concept actually.
Let's let everyone contribute their "knowledge" to an information resource and call it fact.
Yes, I know the articles are monitored etc. etc but it still doesn't help fix the differentiation of peoples personal opinions, beliefs and concepts. The reason we as human beings exist today is largely because of language. Ladies and gentlemen can you tell be what language is? It's a series of sounds that we make in order to represent things, emotions and ideas. Without this ability to communicate we would not be able to teach each other or advance. So when some when thinks that everyone should get a say on the definition of a word I have to take a step back and shout, "are you a complete moron!"
wikipedia is contributing to the degradation of language, grammar and education. I know it sound alarmist and like I'm trying to panic everyone but you're hearing it happen right now. Listen to the younger generations speak, they burn through new, slang, lingo and catch phrase faster then any generation before them. Partly because we have worldwide and instant access to information and partly because online resources (that they believe and trust) tell them it's okay. I can't tell you how many kids I've over heard or seen using wikipedia as an actual resource. And it's parents fault too for not telling them or knowing that wikipedia is not a trustable resource. 9 out of 10 times it could be right but that one time, that one time could mean someone walking around believing that WWII was all faked.
Now that I've gone completely insane I do want to say that wikipedia is a problem if only that people continue to treat it as 100% fact.
It's also a problem because if I hear one other person use wiki to replace dictionary or encyclopedia I will do something brutal with and inanimate object and their bodily orifices.
stupid people

Losing my religion

I learned about http://www.ikarma.com/ about a year ago when it first came out. Now the premise is great, something I can really get behind. It undoes the anonymity that the internet created or at least it sounds like it should.
What you do is sign up for an account using your email address and people can rate you and leave comments. That way is your an ass people will know your an ass. In my mind this had a lot of great potential. Of course there are several loop holes like disposable email addresses and anonymous proxies to re-rate yourself. Being the civil minded fellow that I am and since I thought that this could change the way the internet worked I decided to send an email to the company in regards to these flaws. The letter I received went something like this:

Dear Sir,
We thank you for your appreciation and interest. We at IKarma are aware of certain holes in the system and are working to fix potential problems. However the service we offer is not geared toward individuals but business that way we can make money off of ads and rigging rates for people who give us money.
Thank you and have a nice day.

I added some flare to the summary but it's a summary none the less. IKarma is for business and so has nothing to do with the issue of folks running around willy nilly across the internet doing, saying and downloading whatever without repercussion. And as far as it goes for a business service I can't see them getting very far. The people who would have a bad reputation would either rig their own ratings through the various holes or not participate. It's not like it means anything if they don't have an account their. Someone's not going to say, "what's your I Karma account? Don't got one? Well, I can't do business with you." (That's what unions are for).
I mean no offense, like I said they have a good idea they just rely on the one thing that I learned to never rely on, people caring. People caring enough to rate people and people caring enough to sign up for an account because unless they have a widespread epidemic of themselves they have no service worth value, a catch 22.
stupid people

Top 10

Personal recommendations sites should have taken off a long time ago. These websites are designed to finds thing based on recommendations of other people and they've been around for a while but it only just seems like they're beginning to pick up.
http://www.listsofbests.com is slightly different in that you can make a list of people, places and things giving it the ability to be a little less dependent on selling things and advertising. Like all of these types of sites the major problem is people, at least in my opinion. People like pop and I guess that's what makes it popular. They like things that are easy to understand and other people can chat with them about. So in the end it makes most of these list very similar. I guess another problem is that people assume the things they care about or are interested in everyone else should be too. Someone's 1001 things to do before you die list is not my 1001 things list. The best use you can get out of these list is starting a new hobby or interest, say you want to see more horror flick find a list and you can get started on the most popular films.
Like I said it's the new trend of sales, personalization, but their are other sites with better functionality out there. Amazon.com does a better job but you have to be haunted by the advertising they slip in when they recommend a book they're trying to sell that week.
I even made a demo list of my own but don't take too much credibility from it, I was reaching for things to list.
http://www.listsofbests.com/list/11455/compare/subv

dang i feel all warm and fuzzy for being nice about this site full of egomanical people who believe they have experienced enough of everything to know what is best for people, like the prattle of the davinci code or the cool and edgey clock work orange.
There I feel better now.
stupid people

A little trippy

Don't fall!
Stumble Upon had/has a good idea but on occasion seems poorly executed.
The basic concept is that you sign up for an account and register your likes and dislikes. Based on that the stumbleupon engine finds websites you might be interested. The down side to this is that everyone an their mothers can recommend websites so it's generally used as free advertising, though they try to weed out spam sites.Your thumbs up thumbs down ratings are supposed to be calculated and if you don't like a site then they look at other users who like sites you like and send you to one of those. I suppose im my case I'm in a loose loose situation since I think most of the internet is crap.
The two biggest problems with stumble upon is that people like to recommend sites that link you directly to streaming video, flash animation or quicktime movies which if you have a slow connection can really muddle up the works. I have cable internet and everytime one of these loads my computer slows down then this load annoying song or sound effects come out of my computer. People also like to link to specific pages on websites instead of linking to the main page itself and let people go from there.
The second problem is that I doubt the effectiveness of the stumble upon engine. On several occasion it'll send me to pages I already gave a thumbs down to or pages that I obviously have no interest in.
As is my belief with most websites like this, where user input is the key, they need to develop a regulatory system that checks and balances itself automatically (something like I designed some years ago but fail to launch myself). If stumble upon could do a better job of cross referencing likes dislikes and prevent repeated sites and site themes from popping up it would be lovely. Since it's not and like to send me to pages I hate I'll continue to use stumble upon as my number one source for finding bad webpages.

http://www.stumbleupon.com/
stupid people

Things that make you go hmmm

Did you know they took gullible out of the dictionary?

Okay two guess who isn't a marketing major here? You can of course click on the fact check forum link to talk about... well facts but as it stand when I opened this page and looked at it I couldn't decided if the intention of the site was to inform us about misconceptions and make humorous statements or just tell us flat out lies.
It seems to me that a website that uses fact as its major theme would like to clarify that gullible info is a misnomer. It's an abstract conceptual statement. It's saying something without using words. And yes, real art can convey a message without words. In fact real art doesn't rely on sending a message it relies on the observers ability to feel an emotion from the work. There's a whole lot that defines real art but what I'm getting at here is that what this guy does is not art.
So why then do any of this?
To get a message out? And what message would that be? It seems he wants to support the human race but that could just be sarcasms because anyone who would be for supporting the human race wouldn't be trashing the environment by using up all that PLASTIC tape.
So lets go with the theory that he's against human propagation. Which I think clarifies why theirs a baby plastic sculpture attached to pink flamingo.
I prefer to go with the idea that all this guy wanted to do was take amusing photos of plastic babies and but them on the internet to be cool.
I'd like to thank you from all the struggling painters, musicians and writers out their for degrading the word "art".
http://www.xmarkjenkinsx.com/
stupid people

Does that make me a bad person?
For laughing at nerds.
The definition of nerd has changed over the last couple of years. I don't know if it's a local thing (California) but nerds became the in thing or at least saying that you were a nerd. I saw big breasted women walking around with t-shirts that said, "I love nerds" and people declared, "I'm such a nerd". It was a bit annoying since the people involved in the nerds are cool phase said this wore the trendy clothes, listened to the pop music and said the new catch phrases.
I don't wear trendy clothes (no wrist bands, tight pants, torn jeans, etc.), I like sci-fi shows (battlestar galactica, firefly, sliders, etc.), I play video games (games with video...) and I have more knowledge than pop knowledge (in fact my pop knowledge sucks now but that's because I'm old). Yet I drink to excess (I hate whiskey though), gamble (black jack because I can't count any higher than that), smoke (camels) and do various other activities legal to illegal(...).
A nerd is a nerd as a matter of social intellect. You can tell a nerd just by listening to them. When talking to normal folk they try to act cool only to end up looking like an idiot, they get nervous and they talk about things no one cares about. A nerd in other words is a social moron. The only way they can act comfortable in a crowd is amongst other nerd.
And the most common social activity of nerds it?
RPG (roll playing games). I'm not talking about video game rpgs I'm talking about getting together in your mom's basement, pulling out the D&D (dungeons and dragons) manuals and rolling dice.
Know what? Forget about everything I just said, you can know a nerd if they're a GM in RL (sorry about making fun of the use of RL [real life] outside of chat rooms but it's retarded [and I'm sorry about using the word retarded to give something a negative connotation but I couldn't think of a better word and it is retarded]). In case you didn't know GM means game master. Traditionally its the bloke who sits down and reads the manual/rules to a particular RPG and then makes up a story line for his friends to play through giving them quests and creatures to fight.
And look here there's an entire webstite devoted to them!
http://www.treasuretables.org/
I have nothing against the physical website it's actually a decent layout for the type of content I just couldn't pass up making fun of it though.
stupid people

Huh?

I spent a minute or two just starring at this site. To it's credit the site doesn't rely on fancy graphics or over flow with pointless words and colors. It is what it is and that's what I couldn't figure out. I don't know about you but I'm a bit reluctant to fill things out and click buttons (That's how you end up "accidentally" gambling online). Although compared to most sites these days the two sentence, one incomplete sentence, of instructions is more than usual. I got daring and typed, "this website" resulting in utter pointlessness.
The part that gives me a heart murmur is that from the text at the bottom this site has apparently been bounced off a previous server due to popularity. Popularity (my spell checker says this is misspelled but I beg to differ and I'm too lazy to argue with it. I have an evil spell checker)? Popularity with ten year olds and people who still laugh at farts?
I wonder if I can blame pointless sites for something? Like I can blame SUV's for creating more demand on gas thus raising the price.

http://objection.4camp.net/
stupid people

I'm not going to begin to argue the artistic merits of graffiti (through definition it's art but to me it's ugly).
Graffiti takes all the rules of graphic design, colors, and message then throws them away. Now normally that would be hip cool and trendy but in this case all you wind up with is a logo/font/banner as illegible as the one on this site.
I respect what they are trying to do, promoting artists who have trouble getting recognized. By the very nature of graffiti art the artist comes up from local neighborhoods un like some of the rich kids art I've seen recently (kids who can right off the bat afford a studio and a gallery and the paint they use whilst living a comfortable life whether or not they sell anything). What I will never be convinced of is that graffiti is anything but vandalism when it's unwantedly place on your property. I guess its the nature of low class kids to think that you'll like what they like. Why else would they blast their car stereo or yell at each other from across the street? Although I could equate it to animals marking their territory and shouting out mating calls but that would be rude.
What we're going to see in the near future is local and federal policing agencies using the internet to track down crime, first major crime and then petty crime. In the end websites like this will not only be held liable for promoting criminal activity but also lead the police to the perpetrators (jeez, I feel like and old grandpa yelling, "get of my lawn, kids these days"). But since I've had to pay to paint over other peoples graffiti I'll be laughing when you start receiving citations in the mail brought on my photos you took and posted on the internet.
http://wallspankers.com/
stupid people

Well, Peter and Gordon what is all the hype?
You have a brand spanking new website yet it still fails to mention what the hype is. I suppose I'm going to have to click around and see.
Portfolio... Click....
Ah, it seems they're website developers. Wait...
Website developers that chose the URL http://hypecr.com/
hypecr? Sort for hype creative, I get it there wasn't much to choose from as far as urls go. So what if hypecr doesn't stick in the mind as anything else but "hi pecker". And what sort of self serving web developer would explain what they do or what their website is about on the first page. But that's what the about page is for because as everyone knows we all love clicking on peoples about page, we don't all think our time is valuable and you need to get your message out as quickly as possible. So, they aren't marketing or business guys lets give them some slack. I'm really not sure if they're good or bad at what they do. I'm just annoyed that these are the types of guys that go around putting together website that don't explain anything about themselves.
"Welcome to arc.com please enter your credit card to continue."
(incase you didn't get it that was a joke, opening up a page and having the first thing you read be that and I don't know if arc.com is a real website. The scratchy white font banner thing is ugly and hard to read. I clicked and clicked on links but couldn't figure out what anything was. I did find out that who ever this person is they're a democrat, one of those I can't get over Bush (cry, cry, cry) so I'm going to use every opportunity to take pictures and audio clips and make him look more stupid (I don't know if I mentioned this but I'm not a republican nor am I a whinny democrat who only reads certain parts of the news that says Bush and his friends are evil and they're trying to take over the world). I was under the impression this was an ART website. I guess all you have to do now a days to be an artist is to hate Bush. I wish people would start putting explanations on the front page as to what the hell they are doing.

Moving on to the yellow text. Please read.
If you didn't know there are some folks that believe the telecom companies want to start charging for better internet bandwidth to website. Say large company A pays and large company B doesn't. Large company A's website will have a faster connection meaning visitors will load the site faster (assuming you're on DSL or cable modems). Large company B gets a slower connection and so... I don't know people won't go to the website anymore because they decided what they wanted wasn't important enough. Well they tried to pass a bill that wouldn't allow this and it got voted down (by republicans and democrats alike). In many ways I think this could be the best thing for people as a whole society. CNN's report says, "Most Americans believe that if you play fair and work hard, you'll get ahead". Are you serious? If that's true most American's are ignorant to reality. The reality is that there is so much crap on the internet its become a breeding ground for misinformation and factual information alike. There are no laws requiring anyone to disclaimer fact and fiction. There are no laws about harassing people, or using websites to load unwanted material onto your computer, of using a program to search every web page to find email addresses and send them spam. There are no laws because the internet is not a public forum. It never was and anyone who thinks otherwise needs a wake up call.
TV is not a public forum (except public broadcast, one channel packed with crap and thats an fCC rule.) we get no say on what commercials we see if at all. The big companies pay lots of money to get low station numbers so they're the first we find.
The phones are not public domain. We pay for a service and they give it to us. It's in their right to alter that service and if we still pay for it then that just make them smarter. They are the company owners not us. We don't tell them what to do we just have been buying their product since the day we had money of our own. So if they want to alter the internet they can. It's your choice on whether you pay for their service or not.
Remember we didn't have the internet twenty years ago, it wasn't necessary we've all have just gotten used to it. I almost wish the evil telecoms do it. It would probably cut down on the crap useless websites and the spam sites filled with ads trying to make money. But I would never be so luck. All that will happen is that the bussiness that pay will get better connections and all others will compensate. Web design will become more functional stripping away the over used and useless add-ons (I was getting tired of everyone and their mother using flash for everything and putting streaming video on their pages). The websites with content will still have content only it will be easier to come by. The websites that relied on stealing other people's videos, pictures, etc will become empty shells.
The saddest part about this is that we do have the power to do something but everyone is too lazy and afraid of change to do so. Stop using the internet, stop giving them money or at the very least if this does happen boycott the business that pay for the faster service and let them see what they aren't getting for their money. Sound good right, of course when you find out that eBay, or CNN, or Google will be the first to shell out money then you'll have second thoughts.
So now as I finish my soap box speech put your fist in the air and yell, IMPRISON YOURSELVES KEEP DOING WHAT YOU'RE DOING!

p.s. freedom of speech is that and only that. It never guaranteed a venue for your speech or that anyone would listen.

http://artcontext.org/
stupid people

People pay for web addresses, right?

All I have to say is windows 95 baby.

http://www.june29.com/
stupid people

The Next Hemingway?

I don't mean to sound pretentious but Hemingway was cool. He fought in wars, hunted lions in Africa, smoked too much drank too much. He thought bullfighting was romantic and women were beautifully evil. Hemingway was a world traveler, explorer and adventure seeker but I never imaged him giving credibility to "Critical Thinking For Better Decision-Making" or "Achieving Greater Productivity By Understanding Learning Styles". Ah, but it's a new day and age and maybe he would have been Certified in Instructional Theory Into Practice by the National Institute of Corrections Training Academy (what the?). Most definitely I think he would have wrote poetry and he would have wrote something like this: Georgie Porgie Sung to the tune, Jesus Loves Me... ... ... ......................................................... It seems like more and more people are assuming that if you've come to the website then you already know why you're here. Sounds like bad marketing to me.
"If you don't know what Coke is I'm not going to tell you."
Let me give a brief explanation of what they say Dropping knowledge is, its a way for the global community to voice their concerns and be heard by the world.
Now let me give you a brief explanation of what it is, it's a website where you can post comments and where there are so many comments that it's very unlikely anyone will read them except for the 100 (big whopping number) questions that they choose to answer at a conference in Berlin. So make your question intelligent sounding and pop knowledge enough so that everyone can agree it was a valid question. That way when all these scientists, philosophers, activists... Social entrepreneurs...Writers? Artists? Seriously who are these people and why should I care about then answering my question? They have no authority or power I might as well write a blog...
But I understand if you want to hold out hope because this is the kind of hope made my a movie director and his friends who I've never heard of funded by a non-profit that they're trustees of... Anyone else catch that they are trustees of a fund set up to give donation and it donated to the trustees. Yup, sounds great!
I'm done.
My question, "Why can't we let the folks in the middle east kill each other off and have it done already?" Yeah I really submitted it, couldn't help myself.

http://www.droppingknowledge.org
stupid people

Powered by crappy image links

and ignorance.

http://www.guerillahost.com/

When you were in highschool or if you're in highschool do you remember/know that kid that is always getting in trouble. I mean actual trouble, usually drugs. They always talk about how if you ask a undercover cop if they're a cop they have to tell you the truth. You ever realize how stupid druggies and criminals tend to be? So why is it on this that we seem to take their word at face value? correct me if I'm wrong but the one thing I remember from my criminology class was that that was a myth. A police officer only has to identify himself when arresting you.
Getting back to the point, read the disclaimer on this site. It made me laugh and thus I include it here.
"Uh no sir... I'm not doing anything... BUT WHATEVER YOU DO DON'T LOOK IN THE BASEMENT!"
Ever hear of reasonable suspicion. Its the thing that police use when they don't need a warrant. It's why say if you are smoking a joint in your car they can theoretically search your person and the entire vehicle. Its why if you run off and head to your hideout they can just kick in the door with out a judges authorization.
Sadly enough there is no criminal mastermind here (we really need someone to step up to that challenge). Its just a bunch of losers who think they have musical talent because they have some turntables and computer software, mixing other peoples songs with other peoples songs. Which as far as I know isn't illegal unless they try to sell it our perform it in public (is the internet public? Looks grey to me).
To all you evil deviants out there unless you have a super laser or mass murdered thousands of people stop thinking anyone cares what you're doing.
stupid people

The world sickens me

What have we learned?

Just because you own photoshop and can cut and paste crappy character looking shapes and add words to them does not me you should create a comic and it most definitely does not mean you have any humor writing ability. I'm even for letting some people know about these good things so that they can enjoy them. Promote good things good! I'll even argue about what makes a good thing good. Loyalty to good thing, yeah! There is a line however between acknowledging a good thing and becoming obsessed with it. People who become obsessed with movie stars, bands, movies, etc. are creepy and sad. They put this thing so high on a pedestal that they can't see anything else while tilting their head backs. When you worship something that much you refuse to let it go. Time goes on, new things arise, out with the old in with the new. The human race can't possible get better if we're busy holding on to the past. Sad for us there are tons of old folks still around (baby boomers) driving classic (gas guzzling exhaust letting) cars and clinging onto old narrow minded ideas. I find it ironic that a large percentage of these idol worshipers are Christian. All we can do is bide our time till the geezers die. As for the rest of the idol worshipers their nothing to worry about, too busy star struck to actual do anything important like be the next idol.
stupid people

Asking for it

It might be argued that certain things on the internet are private. Like webpages put up by families to keep in touch and up to date. Although, one could also argue that they should just call each other. The internet is not a private place. It's not a place to put your journal, live or otherwise. The entire internet (excluding password protected sites and servers) is completely public to the entire world (excluding china). With that said all these web pages I bash I've come across using web rings, search engines and other various utilities that you have to opt into in order to gain more traffic. These people want to be seen. It seems for some reason they think they have something to offer the world whether entertaining or insightful I don't know because I can't seem to find anything useful on any of these sites. It like being asked to watch someone's vacation slide. I don't give a crap where you want, how fun it was or what tourist traps you stood next to. You know the saying, if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all? I'm officially changing it to, if you don't have anything intelligent or important to say don't say anything at all. There are far to many people in this world to allow that much clatter and with that said...

p.s. I sure hope Ariel was his daughter because I'm feeling a pedophilia chill down my back let alone the creep picture of the girl. http://www.nightshore.com/nightshore.main.htm
stupid people

Born in the (former) USSR!

I was bornnn in the (former) USSR!
Okay, I wasn't but thats why I need http://www.learnslovak.com/ in case I ever find myself in the middle of a russian mob war and realize I never learned to speak russian I can yell out in slavak, "blokovať" and maybe one of those angry Ivans will understand and not care. An Austrian psychiatrist, psychoanalyst trained by Sigmund Freud. In the 1930s, he said he discovered a physical energy, which he called "orgone," and which he said was contained in the atmosphere and in all living matter. He developed instruments,— orgone accumulators,— to detect and harness the energy, which he said could be used to treat illnesses like cancer.
In other words he was the first credible quack or the father of new age mysticism and those crazy crystal freaks.
So I guess these folks decided to dabble with Reich's orgone accumulator formula which amounts to mixing and matching different rocks and minerals together and putting them in plastic. So in the end you get this ugly looking paper weight that is supposed to heal the world.
Has anyone caught the real joke here? Ozarks...
If you don't know what the Ozarks are let me tell you. They're a mountain ranging in the southern united states. They are also the source of every hillbilly, redneck, white trash, inbreeding, "squeal like a pig" joke in existence. The folks up there are so cut off and left to their own that they tend to do the things that the stereotypes say they do.
So everyone buy a hillbilly papeweightht and get energized!
stupid people

Tip toe through the tulips

Any of you old enough to remember Tiny Tim? I'm not talking Chuck Dickens Tiny Tim. I'm talking tall weird looking guy who sang and played the ukulele. Well, Jake Shimabukuro isn't weird looking but I am going to nominate him for dork of the year. As you can see from the thumbnail he tries hard to look cool but how cool can you be when you play the ukulele in a rock band. Okay, I know how that sounds, pretty cool.

http://www.jakeshimabukuro.com/

Jake makes the ukulele as cool as wearing a star trek outfit to your wedding, no that's cool too...
as cool as going into a British pub during a soccer match and changing the TV to the sci-fi channel (don't get me wrong I like the sci-fi channel although the other day instead of having a twilight zone marathon they were showing wrestling... Weird.)
Jake views the ukulele as an "“untapped source of music with unlimited potential."”
I view the ukulele as a little guitar for babies. I don't count myself a great guitar player but I know what I'm doing and I've fiddled with a ukulele before and it just doesn't seem all that challenging with less strings and less places to put your fingers on the fret board. Sure you need some finger dexterity to strum fast but every day at the near by coffee shop there's this guy who plays guitar for free and his fingers can hit every string one at a time faster than I can see.
So what make Jake so special? The most I can gather is that I've seen him before on a video clip. Anyone can get famous if you have a video clip because it's cool and anyone who disagrees is uncool. Everyone has to jump on board and say how amazing it is even if they have no clue what they're talking about. It's a little bit of fame for everyone. The people in the clip get noticed and the people who comment get noticed. I think it's sad that these folks don't have the self esteem to go on by themselves without getting noticed in some way. That's my opinion.
go to the website, that someone spent way too much money on for Hawaiian with a ukulele and don't forget to scroll down to the bottom of the page. A song will automatically play and you can hear the smooth sounds of ukulele rock.

**Disclaimer - One of my ex-girlfriends lived in Hawaii so I'm biased against the whole island chain
stupid people

Belated disgust

Never fear there is still crap on the internet I just didn't post yesterday (July 5th, which is what this post should read be for). I try to keep the posts as vague as possible so you can go back through them as if they were posted that day. However, with the post 4th of July come downs I want you guys to see this little beauty.

http://www.brownielocks.com/

Let's skip past the horrible site and go straight for the lovely graphics. Yeah, I know not everyone can afford photoshop or spend the time learning how to use it, they can't get an award winning html editor or learn the coding, they can't go to school for graphic deign and educated themselves on color schemes or contrast or legibility or layout. There are a lot of better things the average Jane or Joe has to do in their lives, pay bills and such. So what is a bloke to do when they don't have the time but they want... no, need a website. They find all the freeware they can, slop something together and damn the content.
I'm sorry it has content. Beauties like: Two women were preparing to board an airliner. One of them turned to the pilot and said, now please don't travel faster than sound, we want to talk...
yeah, I don't know what to say either but just sit back and listen to the lovely midi background music on the joke page (assuming you can navigate this hideous site).
Whatever you do don't get lost amongst the 75 pages of background images offered. Handcrafted with love, these watercolor paintings tell the tale of a mastercraftsman at work.
I do have to hand it to them for the copyright paranoia displayed on this website. Somewhere on every page there is some sort of rule about taking, borrowing or using. They even went as far as to make the text unselectable. I suppose when you have over fifteen million unique visitors you have to do what you have to do. You heard be right, fifteen million. At least that's what it says at the bottom of the page. This page has supposedly been around since 1999, they haven't seemed to learn any new coding skills or design skill but yet they've had 15,000,000 visitors. I have to hope for the sake of humankind that their was some sort of coding glitch on the stat counter. Otherwise they must know something I don't and therefore I take everything back I just said.
stupid people

Every time

Every time I browse the web for something to hate I get to a point where I think, "I'm not going to find anything," and then bam!

http://www.airraidsirens.com/

It's times like this where I'm glad the internet exist. How else could our world's culture and knowledge survive? How else could our children learn about air raid sirens? Okay, I get collecting things and having hobbies like collecting cards or playing with model trains. It's cool I got my nerdy secrets too but what category does air raid sirens fall under?
I don't even really know what to say.
Speechless... typeless.
Shit they went through the trouble of designing a shockwave program for it (who still uses shockwave by the way?).
Seriously.
Seriously.
I just don't know what to say...
Air raid sirens...
I couldn't even bring myself to download any of the audio files though they'd probably make a great ring tone.
Don't get me wrong, it's 4th of July and I respect war veterans and people who lived in a war zone. I just sat through and hour long rain of concussion blasts and I couldn't image existing with that overhead and deadly. There's something to be said about chronicling the past, remembering it but... click on the "my siren project" link at the top in little almost illegible text, then click thunderbolt. If you scroll down you get a glimpse of the man behind the siren. A thirty year old guy who doesn't look like he gets much dating in on his siren down time (sorry, I know personal bashing is kinda low but the reason assumptions and generalizations exist is because 80% of the time they're right).
I can't imagine there's much of an industry or market for refurbished air raid sirens but more power to you siren man, more power to you.
stupid people

Midgets on Parade

http://www.garyparker.com

Today I'd like to make Gary Parker Famous. One of my biggest pet peeves is people posing as artists. Don't even get me started on the digital edit job he's done on the intro photo (I'll take on digital editing some other day). This guy throws up (literally) a website calls it a portfolio and tries to get work off it. I'm not a big fan of photography to begin with but this guy sucks and I feel sorry that he probably spent a lot of money on the site and his equipment.
Granted he has a couple of unique action shots but for the most part he's got a standardly bland eye for the average. Let alone the fact that he tries to throw in some sort of... humor that just comes off as retarded (apologizes to the mentally handicapped).
What I think we're really here for though is the creepy midget photos or are they dwarfs? I'm all for the little people yea haw! But a little person should never NEVER be posed in a photo like a puppet, it's degrading, it makes people like me point and stare and it gives me the willies... the little girl in the first gallery...wwjhakldhzl she's totally hiding under my bed right now waiting to eat my brains.
Gary Parker, I don't know you, probably never will, may have offended you but life is life and there should be someone out their willing to let you know you're stupid.
stupid people

Food for Thought

Monkey Brain Sushi

Couldn't help but pick it up off the shelf. I thought I'd put out something that isn't horrible in all ways. This is a collection of short stories by some famous and new japanese writers. If you're looking to read something away from the standard buy meets girl, mystery, suspense dribble that has been all over the best seller lists pick this up. It's hard to find sometimes but there's the link above to buy it online.
This book has everything from whore houses where one can get needles shoved in your genitles to the perfect design for a god.
If you haven't ready anything by a japanese writer before (not counting, manga, etc.) then it might be a bit hard to get into. They have a diffrent way of diving and executing a story none of this three point plot (intro-conflict-conclusion) that we're so used to.
stupid people

Foil hats are in

http://www.wingtv.net

Admittedly I don't watch much TV, try to save myself the horror, but I've never heard of wing TV and that makes me sad because apparently the revolution is being televised and I'm missing it.
As a true patriot of disbelief, mistrust and paranoia I always find it hard to take folks like this seriously. Man, I don't even take long standing news papers as creditable. Everyone has their own personal agenda whether they want to admit it or not. We're human we have the things that interest us and some time we let that open certain doors and close off others. But the unbias nature of the news is a whole other topic.
It worries me that people can read obviously alarmist propaganda info with out blinking an eyes. Though I think the irony of the matter is the type of people who get read this stuff as fact like to call everything else propaganda. There's one thing I know for sure good people can't always be good and bad people can't always be bad, sometimes they slip up. So it seems a fella would have to be pretty insane to think that the government was 100% bad, hiding, lying, self-serving yet all these types of folks print are articles that the government is all evil.
But to be completely honest what I'm really tired of is people that are still complaining about the war. Its been on for how long now? Those stupid hippies protested 'nam and all they managed was to do drugs and damage property. Protesting does jack. The people who care about your cause already care, you're not going to suddenly convert someone. Bush's term is almost up why not spend your energies towards the future presidency rather than with something you can't changed. Move on.
I got off topic.
The real point I wanted to make here is... did you click on the holocaust unveiled thing? These guys slip fairly accurate news articles in with some disturbing revisionist theory that the holocaust never occurred. Creep factor 10. I have to assume that these guys have some neo-Nazi ties. I hope I don't find myself beaten by a bunch of ignorant white trash for this.
Anyway, I'm gonna run on a little more. If you scroll down to the bottom of the webpage you'll notice the website was designed by PCStudios (www.pcstudios.com, a bad design I might add since they charge $1,000 dollars for it). I'm all for freedom of speech but I think I'd have a moral issue putting together a website for a bunch of bigots. So there are two theories; one they have no morals (seeing as how they over charge for crappy web design I could lean in that direction) or two; they are also neo-Nazi's. Which also means that the Costa Rica rain forest foundation is run by Nazi's (www.costaricarainforestfoundation.org) and so in summary the rain forest is evil and must be destroyed.
GO CLEAR CUTTERS GO!
stupid people

Pimps and hoes

http://www.pimpmefamous.com/

Please, please, please, please won't anybody agree with me. I'm absolutely tired of these stupid lip sync videos. Some retarded kid hops on his web cam and sings to their favorite song. Could you get any homosexual than that? I expect it from girls they have that whole "look at me, pay attention to me" thing going on but guys... guys? What are you thinking? You are not cool, remember that Asian kid with the bad teeth who sang "she bang" or whatever and how he may have sold records but people were actually laughing at him like they would a freak show? That's you. As for the girls keep turning on the web cam because one of these days you'll be a porn star after you boyfriend but your sex tape on the internet (www.xxxmsncam.com, by the way that's actually a porn site so don't go if you're going to get in trouble).
stupid people
